One of the main reason for the mast failure is that it's not getting lubed properly. Oil is needed for the seals and all the moving components in your mast just like your vehicle does. In winter your mast needs thin oil which can reach to the very top sections of the mast. Will-Burt oil is the best oil you can use.
We have also been using Texaco brand aircraft oil 5606-HO5 (Product Code TX 1554-4 which is available from any oil store)
for over a decade and it has really prolonged the life of our customer's masts.

Maintenance is very important for your mast. When the mast is lubed and cleaned regularly it performs smoothly and does not
give any surprises when it is needed the most. During the maintenance visual inspection is done to check for Dtek or sig-alarm
operation, pinched wires, safety pin, nuts and bolts for all the gear above the mast.
